Helpful stuff
Our pouches contain aluminium sandwiched between two layers of plastic to ensure our products are as handy for mums + dads as possible, as it keeps our organic food fresh. The aluminium never comes in direct contact with the food to ensure it’s safe for tiny tummies. Both layers of plastic have been chosen to be safe with food. The pouches do not contain any Bisphenol A or Phthalates, which are the main toxin concerns relating to plastics. The aluminium used is BPA free as well, and our caps and 'straws' are made from PE plastic, which is very common in food use and has served this type of packaging for many years. Sadly, many local Councils will not accept the pouches in their recycling bins. That's why we've teamed up with eco-friendly TerraCycle to provide a recycling solution. All you have to do is sign up to join Ella’s Kitchen’s team on TerraCycle’s website and then start saving all your used pouches to send – free of charge - to TerraCycle. The waste packaging will then be upcycled by TerraCycle to create fun new products such as our fab lunchbags. For every pouch you send to TerraCycle, a donation will be made to your chosen charity, local school or nursery. We really hope that you enjoy this new, easy and fun way to recycle! Our pouches use 80% less materials than many alternative forms of packaging. An independent audit of the life cycle of our pouches has shown that the energy used, and the environmental impact made, when making, transporting and destroying them is significantly less than PET plastic bottles, tetra packs and glass. We hope that helps keep your mind at rest when feeding your little ones. |
